Greta Thunberg Climate Protests

December 30, 2019

A 16-year-old activist from Sweden, Greta Thunberg, has emerged as the leader of the youth movement that has pushed governments and corporations to address climate crisis. She has launched ‘Fridays for future’ movement or School Strike for Climate in 2018 – one that encourages students to skip school to demand action on climate change from their governments. Such climate strikes are drawing participants from more than 130 countries.

As young activists radically reshape the conversation of climate change, leading democratic contenders have issued their own plans to combat climate change. Even TV networks have devoted some amount of airtime in discussing the policy implications of climate change with presidential contenders. To save the environment from the repercussions of increased emissions, such actions are a requisite.
