Same story different medium or the ‘size’ that everyone loves to fit within their daily routine – the smartphone.
Smartphones are fast becoming the delivery agents for almost everything that is consumed by us. Even formal pedagogy based on school lessons and curriculum now have interactive apps.
Animation can leverage these fast processing high definition devices too. Everything from training clips to the BBS observation findings can be circulated by such a dedicated platform.
The skill lies not in developing the platform but the package based on animation and motion graphics to suit demographics and EHS lessons. Here choosing the right knowledge partner can make all the difference. Even to the organizations that prohibit cellphone usage due to sensitive area(s), information and HR concerns – company portals can offer these trainings and interactive features.

‘Avatar’ based trainings
Virtual environments have been transformed into virtual workspaces where employees can don VR or AR goggles and lead onto learn. Now, with the display of VR in occupational health related rehabilitation, its core principle has been tried to integrate with ‘avatar’ based trainings.
It isn’t dissimilar to flight simulation based environment, instead the avatar chosen by a trainee becomes responsible for his/her/it’s actions. Within EHS (with a boost of animation), such trainings can do wonders for confined space, work at height and hazardous environment related trainings.
Not only can the trained employee learn about hazards but they can understand from the simulated environment that how quickly and how badly a risk can escalate. This embeds the learnings intimately within human response and high risk posing organizations are considering such trainings as mandatory – oil & gas, chemical, mast tower maintenance etc.
The technologies we have talked about are already out there in action and being utilized in one form or another. The best part of these technologies (in combination with animation) is the flexibility and adaptability of content for many platforms.
